We came into Sydney by train and walked across the Harbour Bridge, looking down onto the Opera House |
There was an old fashioned sailing ship you could tour the harbour on |
The CBD is quite impressive behind the harbour |
In the old town, The Rocks, are many old-ish buildings |
This area was where the settlers used to come to for registration |
It's supposed to look like sails... |
Some of the old houses are a bit ostentatious |
Not all the boats are pleasure craft |
The lighthouse stands alone in the middle of the river |
We got a ticket that did us for trains and boats all day, so we took a ferry across the harbour at a fraction of the cost of the tourist boats |
That's right, sails?!!?! |
Paul, thinking he was still back in Asia |
You could climb across the bridge's top for a price |
Sails?!!? |
After 9 years construction it opened in 1932 and is Sydney's most recognizable landmarks and carries trains, vehicles and pedestrians |
Nutters, here at 134m |
My favourite place in Sydney was the botanical gardens |
With it's grand house |
Creates a mighty impression |
The sundial wasn't much use on this cloudy day |
Paul, by a tree Queen Elizabeth II planted, gnarley! |
And by another one, she didn't |
I won that bet then |
Well worth a visit to |
